Update!

Ok, so even though the dropcash account shows $160, we are now officially at $200, thanks to everyone who donated! Keep going and I'll post pictures and maybe video after this weekend. If anyone has a camcorder and doesn't mind letting me borrow it, get in touch with me.

I Need Your Help!

Ok guys, here's the deal...

I want to take this thing big and really try and raise some money, we've done ok so far, at$120 as of right now, I'll be wearing the haircut for about an hour after the photoshoot. Since I'm only going to wear it for a week max, I need ideas for public activities to help boost the donations higher! Please email me at d j f r a n k at g m a i l dot c o m or leave a comment here! I want to have this ready to submit to some news/forum sites by monday!

Locked Out!

So I had firefox automatically refreshing the group page as I was at work today and they decided that I was mining Facebook for data and locked my account! Anyways, I got a $5 donation from one of my coworkers today, so the total is @ $120 even though the dropcash registers $115. Not much else to report except to keep spreading the word about the project and that the beard is coming in nicely. I think that I'm going to try and make this a pretty big thing, so please, if anyone knows somebody who would be interested in making a simple site to host the project on, let me know. I'm planning on coming up with the formal stipulations here in the next day or two before I submit the project to some various sites for review so PLEASE send me your ideas for some activities to do in the vertical tonsure!

First Donations

Just a quick update....

The first donations rolled in today, generous ones at that. 2 $50 donations came in this afternoon, which guarantees that I will be cutting my hair in what I have dubbed the "Vertical Tonsure". Any additional donations in the next few weeks until I am able to cut my hair will go towards keeping the haircut on my head for longer than the duration of the photo session.

I would also encourage you facebookers out there (and even you non-facebookers, sign up, anyone can join now) to check out the facebook site and give me some input on what you want to see me do in the V-Tonsure.

Beginning of the End

For all 3 of you reading this blog, you may have noticed a new piece of content on the side as of today. I've decided to take on a particularly unique way of raising some money for charity. Here's the excerpt from my Facebook group...

Ok, so back in high school, my friends latched onto the idea that I should grow my hair into a ring around my face. Think of it as extending the sideburns under the chin and over the top of the head. Think the haircut pictured at left (a Tonsure) and rotate it over so that it rings the face. So anyways, I've started growing out my facial hair and will let my regular hair grow out as well. I decided that I'd like to have a little fun with it and raise some money for charity.

So here's what I propose; as of now, I'm only planning on cutting my hair into that cut for some pictures and then shaving it off; for every $5 over $100, I will spend an additional 15 minutes with the haircut while going about my normal daily activities. If the donating reaches $200, I will guarantee a public appearance of the ring and will take pictures and maybe video (if I can get ahold of the equipment)

I decided on the Clinton foundation for the charity to donate to, so start donating!
